To make a candy Sunday you will need a bunch of individually wrapped candy, half a foam ball, toothpicks(wooden), a tack or needle, a glass Sunday bowl, (I find mine at dollar store) hot glue and hot glue gun, Scissors, cotton balls and one Hershey kiss(or candy of your choice for cherry) and a bendy straw.
First fill the Sunday glass with the candy then use hot glue to dab around the edge it will dry fast so you must work quick. Once you have glue spots all around the perimeter of the glass apply the foam dome up. It should already be taking the shape of a Sunday.
Now, prep the candy by using your tack or needle to poke a hole through one end of the wrapper. I find it saves time to do a few at a time. Next break your toothpicks in half. Put half a tooth pick through the hole you made in the wrapper.
Once you have some candy prepped use the sharp end of the toothpick to stick the candy around the bottom rim of the foam dome. Go all the way around be sure to leave a little space between each one so the next layer candy will have a place to “sit”. Just continue this process each row moving toward the top.
When you reach the top stop adding candy and just stick some toothpicks, (I know it looks dangerous but this will hold the cotton which will look like whippy cream. ) Before you add the straw I find it helps to pre make the hole in the Styrofoam I used a pen. Cut the straw short at a sharp angle and insert into the foam. I like the look of the bendy straw but any will work. Once that is in place simply pull some cotton balls apart to stick to the toothpicks. Be sure to drag some downward a bit weaving through the candy this will help it look more “real”
As a final touch I like to take a half a toothpick and stick it in the bottom of a Hershey kiss and pop in on top.
